“All of the Lights”

The Gospel of Fire is about understanding that everyone suffers. We are going to listen to other people’s stories of suffering and get some tools so that when that time comes for us, we are prepared. Every sword is forged in hot fire and the Gospel of Fire will teach you how to forge your sword. I want to help you live your best life possible which comes through understanding that you’re going to fail, that the people in your life are very important, and that we can do this together. There is no such thing as a self made man. Somewhere, at sometime, someone helped him. TGOF will help us understand that we need to be on both ends of this conversation, be there for people when they need help, and ask for help when we need it. This does not make you weak, connection with people will make you strong beyond belief.

“All of the Lights”

Right now all of the lights are off.  We are all in the dark.  Nobody getting credit for anything they are doing.  No athletes on Sports Center, no one showing that flash or crushing the market. Almost everyone’s business is shut down.  What are you doing to prepare for when “All of the Lights” come back on?

Will You Still Walk Your Dog When This Ends

With this mandatory social distancing and shutdown we are all doing things in our lives that we weren’t doing before but wish we were.  Having real quality time with our families, taking our dogs for a long walk.  My neighborhood gathers in the cul da sac for 20 minutes every night.  These things are simple.  Simple things that make us feel good and have a sense of togetherness.  When COVID ends, will we still do them?

How Do You Talk to Yourself

Not doing things in the most skillful way is part of the human experience.  How do you talk to yourself in these moments?  Do you berate yourself, call yourself names,  yell and scream at yourself?  Or do you give yourself some space?  Some space for errors, some space for not always doing things in the most skillful ways.  If you can do this, you will create kindness for not just yourself, but also others when they don’t act in the most skillful ways!!!

Did You Brush Your Teeth Today

We brush our teeth every day to maintain our basic oral health. It is something we do twice a day so that our teeth don’t fall out. If we have a cavity or rotten teeth, brushing them will do no good. So what other habits do you or could you stick to in order to invest in other aspects of your well-being? For me, it’s meditation, gratitude, and exercise every day when I wake up. I encourage you to find some habits that you can build into your routine to live your best, healthiest life. Find your power.

I Ask Not for a Lighter Burden But for Broader Shoulders

So often we ask for things to get easier, for our struggles to become less.  This is out of our control.  It has nothing to do with us.  We are asking some outside source to make something bearable for us.  This is the wrong ask.  The ask should be for us to be able to bear more.  More struggle, more hardship, more anxiety.  All of these things we can control.  We can dig deep within ourselves, take a deep breathe and say “I am ok and I got this!!”
